Eastern Coastal Plains
- The eastern coastal plains are broader and emergent coasts.

- The Great Indian Desert lies to the northwest of the Aravali hills.
- It is a land of undulating topography dotted with longitudinal dunes and barchans.
- The region receives low rainfall below 150 mm per year, with an arid climate and low vegetation cover.
- The desert can be divided into two parts: the northern part sloping towards Sindh and the southern towards the Rann of Kachchh.
- Most rivers in this region are ephemeral, with the Luni river flowing in the southern part of the desert being of some significance.
