Imam Al-Sadiq's (AS) Supplication

  • When lying down to sleep, Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) would say a specific prayer three times:
    • "Alhamdu lillahi alladhi 'ala faqahara, wa alhamdu lillahi alladhi malaka faqadara, wa alhamdu lillahi alladhi yuhyee almawta wa yumitul ahya', wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir"
    • This means: "Praise be to Allah who has overcome, praise be to Allah who has possessed and ordained, praise be to Allah who gives life to the dead and causes the living to die, and He is capable of everything"
  • Reciting this prayer three times before sleeping is equivalent to being born free from sins, as stated by Imam Al-Sadiq (AS)
