Sense Organs and Internal Organs
- Our body has different sense organs, such as tongue, ears, skin, nose, and eyes, which can be seen from outside.
- There are internal organs present inside our body that cannot be seen from outside.
Digestive System
- The digestive system consists of various organs, including mouth, food pipe, stomach, and intestines.
- The digestive system breaks down complex materials like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into simpler forms through a process called digestion.
Mouth and Teeth
- The mouth is the first part of the digestive system.
- Teeth are an important part of the mouth, helping to bite and chew food, giving shape to our face, and helping us to speak clearly.
- Humans have two sets of teeth: milk teeth and permanent teeth.
- Milk teeth appear at around six months old and fall out between six to twelve years old, replaced by permanent teeth.
- There are three types of teeth:
- Flat teeth (incisors) for biting and cutting food, with four in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw.
- Pointed teeth (canines) for tearing food, with four in total.
- Broad and grooved teeth (premolars and molars) for chewing and grinding food, with eight premolars and twelve molars in total.
Tongue
- The tongue is also present in the mouth.
