Study Notes

Leave Policy

  • Special Paid Leave can be given by the Location People Solutions Leader in certain circumstances, including:
    • Accidents while traveling in company-provided transport
    • Investigations related to disciplinary issues
    • Up to 5 days for relocation (Business Approved)

Unauthorized Absence

  • Unauthorized absenteeism from duty for 3 consecutive calendar days will lead to "Abandonment of Duty" as per the Off Boarding Process

Availing Leave

  • Leave must be applied through the defined leave process and approved in advance in the Leave Management system

Calculation of Leave Availed

  • Leaves will be marked for working days, and weekly offs or holidays between the leave start and end dates will be marked as such
  • In case of LWP, unauthorized absence, and Sabbatical Leave, weekly offs and holidays falling during the leave period will be counted as such

Other Clauses

  • No employee on leave can take up other employment or vocation for profit or gain
  • Extensions to leave require a written request/electronic application submitted to the Manager in advance

Transfer to Different Location

  • Leave entitlement of the new location will apply when an employee is transferred
  • EL balance will be transferred and credited on a pro-rata basis per the entitlement applicable at the new location
  • CSL balance will either be transferred or lapsed as per the entitlement applicable at the new location

Adjustment of Leaves and Notice Period

  • Leave encashment and notice period recovery will be calculated separately
  • In case the notice period is waived off by the company, no adjustment will be made against the employee's leave balance

Exceptions and Violations

  • Any exception to the policy requires approval from the Labour Relations Leader
  • Any violation should be brought to the attention of the Labour Relations Leader

Responsibility for Execution

  • Employees are responsible for understanding guidelines related to leaves for their respective locations
  • People Managers are responsible for administering the policy in a timely manner
