The MOE:

• A Managed Operating Environment (MOE) is a network of computers with a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and supporting systems.
• The Department of Education MOE was created in 2006 to provide a centralised, managed enterprise-class platform for all schools and offices.
• The MOE has grown to encompass all departmental devices that connect to the network and includes the framework for how departmental systems operate and adhere to governance.
• The MOE has delivered a stable, centrally managed, and standardised enterprise network, reducing the time needed to manage an expanding fleet of devices.
• Standardising hardware and software has minimised the amount of specialised support needed if each site were individually customised.
• The MOE standard has been opened up to allow schools more freedom, with the introduction of supported Bring-Your-Own-X (BYOx) programs and public networks.
• Designated technical staff and support teams maintain the MOE, providing end-to-end service to schools through local and remote support.
• ITB provides information technology services to state schools and DoE corporate locations across Queensland.
• ITB is responsible for the implementation, development, and maintenance of the MOE, as well as services that support the MOE.
• There are four ITB directorates: Customer Engagement, Digital Solutions, Enterprise Technology Services, and Digital Transformation.
• Each directorate is divided into teams that work together to provide services to customers.
