Course Overview

  • The WMD Awareness Level Training Course (AWR-160) is developed by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
  • The course goal is to provide responders with baseline awareness level knowledge of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Pre-Testing

  • The pre-test measures the student's awareness level knowledge of WMD prior to the class.
  • The purpose of the pre-test is to establish a baseline score to compare with the post-test score to determine if the training enhanced the student's awareness level knowledge of WMD.

Test Out Option

  • If a student completes the pre-test with a score of 80% or higher, they are not required to attend the course and will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
  • There is no pass or fail for the pre-test.
  • The test out option does not apply in the Train the Trainer course.

Test Administration

  • Ensure sufficient exams and ScanTron answer sheets for the number of students in the class.
  • Explain the purpose of the pre-test and the "Test Out" procedures to the class.
  • Distribute the test, ScanTron answer sheet, and #2 pencils to the students.
  • Instruct students to complete the administrative information on the ScanTron answer sheet.
