- A copy of the TB Control Plan must be accessible and readily available to each employee during normal working hours at the Department

Definition of Tuberculosis
- An acute or chronic infection caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (TB)
- Spread by the airborne route (droplet nuclei) and can spread throughout a room or building carried on air currents
- Infection occurs when a susceptible person inhales droplet nuclei containing T.B. bacilli
- The immune system typically limits the multiplication and spread of the bacilli in the body
- However, some newly infected persons may experience uncontrolled multiplication and spread of the bacilli
