Development of Electronics

The Integrated Circuit (IC) was invented in 1959 by Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce, combining transistors, diodes, resistors, and capacitors on a single semiconductor substrate.
The first IC op-amp, µA702, was introduced in 1963 by Fairchild.
In 1971, M.E.Hoff of Intel Corporation developed the microprocessor, an IC containing all the components of a computer’s central processing unit.
