MI Diagnosis - Other Tools
- Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG): This is the most important and specific test in diagnosing MI. Abnormal ECG readings can indicate MI, including Q waves (transmural MI), ST segment elevation (STEMI – hallmark of blockage), and T wave inversion (ongoing injury).
