- Employers have a moral duty of care to ensure appropriate working conditions, leading to several detrimental consequences regarding production, morale, sales, and profitability
- Legal frameworks govern lifting equipment, including decision-making, agreements, and laws
- The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (USA), WHS Act (Australia), and the Health and Safety at Work Act (UK) are examples of legislation regarding health and safety
- All countries have health and safety frameworks with similar goals of protecting the health and safety of everyone in the workplace
- These frameworks may differ in names and construction, but aim to protect workers' health and safety
