Study Notes
Grooming Standards
- Moustaches must not extend below the corners of the mouth.
- Sideburns are not allowed to extend below the bottom of the outer ear opening.
Identification Requirements
- Identification plate should be placed in the right pocket, 1/8 inch above the pocket seam.
- Shirt patches must be displayed on both sleeves, centered and 1/2 inch below the epaulets.
Academy Curriculum
- The program includes 29 courses that cover both academic knowledge and practical skills, specifically:
- Firearms training
- Driving techniques
- Standardized field sobriety testing
- Arrest mechanics
- Patrol procedures
- Emergency medical response
Inspection and Attendance Policies
- Cadets must meet inspection standards; failure results in being sent home with an absence.
- More than 5 absences leads to possible dismissal from the program.
- Tardiness exceeding 7 instances or early departures can also result in dismissal.
Exam Policy
- Weekly exams consist of 100 questions every Monday; there are no makeup exams, and a missed exam results in a score of zero.
Skills Training Commitment
- Full attendance in all skill training sessions is mandatory to avoid dismissal.
Expulsion Rules
- Expelled cadets are ineligible for re-enrollment in any subsequent training sessions.
