Uneven Development
- The gap between developed and undeveloped countries

Assimilation vs. Acculturation
- Assimilation: a process in which a group's cultural features are altered to resemble those of another group whose traits might dominate
- Acculturation: the process of changes in culture that result from the meeting of two groups. Changes may be experienced by both of the interacting cultural groups, but the culture features of the two groups remain distinct
One Child Policy - China
- Limits only one child per family
- Girls are usually kept in the family and get rid of the family name. Boys traditionally carry on the family name. So they keep the boys and get rid of the girls to keep the family name. Son's stay in the country for work/family reasons so they keep the boys.
