General Advice

• Those attending the competition should have general knowledge and be able to provide a general overview of the robot's topics and move to another team member if needed
• Memorization of main ideas is beneficial for the team and awards
• Resources include one pagers and binders on Canva

In-Person Outreach

• San Antonio Manufacturing Association (SAMA) in 2023 and 2024 has a business lineup
• Featured is the team's robot and custom-made mini-car
• The team was featured on KENS5 news
• New sponsors were acquired such as Franks Manufacturing, and San Antonio Powder Coating
• Northside Independent School District (NISD) Tech Expo was rebooted this year after its cancellation due to COVID
• The event inspired kids of FIRST and brought a new spirit of STEAM to hundreds of schools across NISD
• Elementary Demonstrations:
• Steubing, Hatchett, and Scobee Ring of Fire Demos all demonstrated their FTC and FRC robots to inspire kids through FIRST
• During the Solar Eclipse, the FRC Robot was demonstrated with interactive play at Scobee Ring of Fire
• Workshops are held for FTC, FRC, and mentors
• An open shop policy allows anyone to use or learn at the team's shop
• Actively mentored teams include Camber 9658, Perseverance 9444 and Roboraiders 3561

Online Outreach

• YAGSL (Yet Another Generic Swerve Library) is a global initiative
• YAGSL is a plug-and-play next generation swerve library to make it easier to transition into a competitive playstyle
• YAGSL is used by over 400 teams in 14 countries, across 6 continents
• YAGSL has YouTube tutorials with over 10,000 views
• Resource Bank contains materials on everything FTC and FRC
• The Resource Bank is being translated into Spanish, French, Hindi, Mandarin, and other languages with the help of teams 9658 Camber and 5829 Awtybots
• Texas Scouting Alliance is a collaboration of 15+ teams in Texas that share scouting data to help alliance selection and strategies
• FRC Locks is a website powered by the Blue Alliance that gives teams accessible data to their rankings during matches
• The team assisted in the site rework to handle high-traffic load
• Project TRANSLATE is translating YAGSL and presentations into Spanish
• The Resource Bank is being translated into 7+ languages to decrease language barriers and increase accessibility
• Project YALL (Yet Another Limelight Library) is currently in beta-testing

Social Media

• The FIRST Official Instagram account is followed by the team
• 130,000 views on Instagram since January 4th (kickoff), as of March 11th
• There are 130k+ views since 1/4/2025, and 43k+ accounts since 1/4/25 (as of 3/11/25)
• Part of Open Alliance:
• Powered by Chief Delphi with 2k+ thread views

Blackout Battle Royale (BOBR)

• BOBR is an off-season glow-in-the-dark FTC event in the Southern US, used as a fundraiser
• BOBR spreads FIRST to a larger audience

San Antonio Pipeline

• A Kinder to University FIRST Pipeline has begun over 90 FLL Programs across all of NISD
• These FLL programs branch into FTC Programs throughout Middle and High Schools
• Actively demonstrate robots to spread FIRST and sustain team membership
• A Food Fest is held for financial sustainability and spreading FIRST
• The Graduation Rate is 100%, with 98% entering STEAM Fields at MIT, Stanford, Rice, UT Austin, and Purdue

Mechanical Subsystems

• Coral Arm has a wrist attached as well as a Differential Gear system
• NEO Vortx powers intake/outtake and connects to the Elevator with a LasercaN Sensor (L1-L4)
• Algae Arm is Spring Loaded and connected to the Elevator
• NEO Vortx powers intake/outtake and has a Lasercan Sensor with Score Net and Processor
• Inverted Elevator

Programming Subsystems

• Multiple encoders are used throughout every subsystem
• Encoders measure the rotation and movements
• Readings are used to program the robot efficiently
• Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) is used to fine tune robot movements

• Path Planner is a plug-and-play for autonomous
• April Tags map out real-time positioning on the field
