General FRC Rules

  • The Autonomous Period is 15 seconds long
  • The Teleoperated Period is 2 minutes and 15 seconds
  • Team members may only enter or exit the Field through open gates
  • Team members may only enter the Field if the Field lighting is green unless explicitly instructed
  • Drive Teams may not cause significant delays meaning they should be ready for Matches
  • First time delay: Drive Team receives a Verbal Warning, and a two-minute timer is started before they are Disabled if they are still not Match ready
  • Subsequent violations: a Major Foul is received, and a two-minute timer is started before being Disabled if still not ready to play
  • Team members are not allowed to bang on the Driver Station plastic windows
  • At least one member of a drive team must show up if the bot cannot play the match to avoid Disqualification
  • "A penalty assessed for egregious Robot or team member behavior or rule violations which results in a team being Disqualified for the Match" is the definition of a Red Card
  • Two Yellow Cards within the same tournament phase results in a Red Card
  • Only one student from a team may address the Head Referee in the Question Box
  • The Student may be accompanied by one silent observer

Reefscape – Field and Scoring

  • Red Alliance drivers are on the right and the Blue Alliance drivers are on the left
  • The term area is used for outside the field, and the term zone is for inside
  • The following Auto Scoring and Teleop Scoring point values are awarded for the following:
  • Leave awards 3 auto points
  • Coral scored in trough (L1) awards 3 auto / 2 teleop points

  • Auto RP (all non-Bypassed Robots Leave & at least 1 Coral is scored) awards 1 point
  • Coral RP (at least 5 Coral scored on each level; at least 5 Coral scored on 3 levels if Coopertition Bonus is achieved) awards 1 point
  • Barge RP (at least 14 Barge points scored) awards 1 point

Reefscape Specific Rules

  • To start the Match, a Robot must be placed so that its Bumpers overlap their Robot Starting Line
  • A Robot may be staged with up to one Coral and no Algae max at the beginning of the round
  • A Robot may Control one of each Scoring Element (Coral and Algae) at a time
  • An Alliance may have no more than 1 Robot fully on the opponent's side of the Field
  • A Robot may not contact the opponent Net nor any Algae scored in the opponent Net
  • A Robot may not contact their Net nor any Algae scored in their Net

Penalties

  • Minor Foul will result in 2 points awarded to the opponent
  • Major Foul will result in 6 points awarded to the opponent
  • The following are scenarios that would likely result in a penalty being called:
  • A Robot has a Component outside its Robot Perimeter and initiates contact with an opponent Robot inside their Robot Perimeter with that Component but no damage is caused.
  • Your Robot drives into an arm of an opponent Robot that is extended outside their Robot Perimeter, even if unintended
