Study Notes

Flexible Time Off (FTO) Policy

  • Purpose: FTO is a paid time off policy for rest, relaxation, and personal needs. It's part of Qsource's commitment to work-life balance.

  • Eligibility: Full-time employees with 30 days of employment are eligible for FTO. Excluded are authorized time off before or after company holidays, floating holidays used instead of company holidays, and authorized religious holidays taken within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Maximum FTO Days per Month: Employees can request up to 10 regularly scheduled work days of consecutive FTO in a calendar month.

  • Supervisor Approval: All FTO requests require supervisor approval. This is required at least two weeks in advance for vacation requests.

  • Vacation Scheduling: Vacation requests should not disrupt departmental/team operations. Seniority or prior vacation scheduling may influence approval if two requests conflict.

  • Maximum FTO During Approved Leave: Up to 160 hours of FTO can be used during an approved leave (FML, non-qualified medical leave, Military Leave, Personal Leave, other approved leave). FTO is allowed concurrently with eligible leave.

  • FTO and Disability: FTO will not be mandated during leaves covered by disability benefits or workers' compensation. Agreement can be made to supplement benefits in cases where state law permits.

  • Extended FTO (3+ days): For FTO lasting longer than 3 consecutive workdays due to illness, a fitness-for-duty certification may be required. If the absence exceeds 10 days, the employee may be required to apply for protected medical leave.

  • Increment for FTO Hours: FTO hours are applied in 4-hour increments for exempt employees (or half the normal shift) and 1-hour increments for non-exempt employees.

  • FTO is Not: Additional wages for work performed, earned or accrued leave. It is not paid out on status change or termination.

Holidays

  • Holiday Eligibility: Regular full-time employees are eligible for paid time off on Qsource holidays. Holiday pay is for workdays, not off days.

  • Weekend Holidays: Weekend holidays are observed on the closest business day.

  • Part-Time/Temporary employees are not eligible for holiday pay.

Religious Observances

  • Religious Holidays: Employees with religious holidays can request FTO.
