- The Civil Code doesn't contain the definition of family.
Marriage Definition
- Marriage is a joint union of a man and a woman, which arises in a manner prescribed by law.
- A marriage ceremony is required for its establishment.
- The main purpose of marriage is to found a family, properly raise children, and provide mutual support and assistance.
Partnership
- Partnership is a permanent union of two people of the same sex, which is concluded in the same way as marriage.
- Unless otherwise provided by law, the provisions on marriage, rights, and obligations of spouses, widows, and widowers apply to partnership.
