Pathinenkilkanakku (ten books): A compilation of poems and prose, credited to the Tamil poet and scholar Nakkeerar. These texts mostly consist of verses on love and war.

The Cankam Epics

Kuruntōḻ eḻuppaṭai: This epic narrates the story of Kannagi, a virtuous woman who takes revenge on the corrupt king who sentenced her husband to death.

The Silappadikaram

One of the most celebrated works of ancient Tamil literature, the Silappadikaram, written by the poet Ilango Adigal, is a narrative poem that explores themes of love, family, and justice. The story follows the life of Kannaki, a virtuous woman who avenges the unjust death of her husband. The Silappadikaram is also credited with the invention of the "Purappadu," a literary form that combines poetry and prose.

The Manimekalai

Written by Sattaiyanar, the Manimekalai is an epic poem that explores themes of love, non-violence, and religious tolerance. The story follows the life of Manimekalai, a virtuous woman who embarks on a spiritual journey. The Thirukkural

The text is organized into three sections: "Aram" (household management), "Porul" (economy), and "Inbam" (love). The Thirukkural is considered one of the greatest works of Tamil literature and a cornerstone of Tamil culture.
