Executive Order S-34-17: LGBTQ+ Community Advisory Committee
- Purpose: To ensure the LGBTQ+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other sexual or gender identifying communities) can provide expert advice and input to the Mayor, City leadership, and City officials concerning community concerns.
- Policy: The City of Omaha seeks stakeholder input from the LGBTQ+ Community regarding policies, services, and issues impacting them.
- Committee Structure: The Committee will consist of members recommended by the LGBTQ+ community and appointed by the Mayor. The Committee will also solicit recommendations for additional members representing various community segments with expertise in the LGBTQ+ Community.
- Responsibilities: Members will elect a chair, vice chair, and secretary. The committee will meet at least quarterly, maintaining minutes that will be posted on the City website. The Committee can further establish bylaws, rules, procedures, and reporting methods
- Effective Date: The Committee will become effective upon the signing of the order.
- Oversight: The Mayor's Office is responsible for oversight and support of the Committee.
