- Business use: Parts of a home used for business (commercial purposes) are excluded, unless the home is rented as a residential property or a part is a home office for clerical work.
- Farming/Rural use: Parts built or used for farming (stables, barns, farm outbuildings, fences) are excluded, unless covered under limited rural lifestyle use or the Lifestyle block fencing benefit.
- Construction/Alteration: Parts under construction, demolition, or alteration, not suitable for permanent residential use, are excluded, unless covered by the New structure build benefit.
- Temporary structures: Temporary structures are excluded.
- Loose surfaces: Loose gravel, shingles (driveways, patios, paths, paving) are excluded.
- Detached fittings: Fittings not permanently attached (curtains, blinds) are excluded.
- Loose floor coverings: Mats, rugs, runners are excluded.
- Unconnected appliances: Appliances not permanently connected to gas, plumbing, or electrical supply (except kitchen ovens) are excluded.
- Household items: Household goods and personal effects are excluded.
- Live plants: Live plants (trees, shrubs, hedges, grass) are excluded, unless covered by the Landscaping benefit.
- Land: Land, earth, or fill are excluded.
- Off-property structures: Structures or property not at the policy's listed address are excluded.
