Tenses in English Grammar
- Simple Present Tense: Used for habitual actions, general truths, and scheduled events.
- Present Continuous Tense: Used for actions happening now, temporary situations, or future arrangements.
- Present Perfect Tense: Used for actions that began in the past and continue to the present, or actions that happened at an unspecified time in the past.
- Present Perfect Continuous Tense: Used for actions that started in the past and continue to the present, emphasizing the duration of the action.
- Simple Past Tense: Used for completed actions in the past.
- Past Continuous Tense: Used for actions that were happening at a specific time in the past.
- Past Perfect Tense: Used for actions that were completed before another action in the past.
- Past Perfect Continuous Tense: Used for actions that began in the past and continued until another time in the past.
- Future Forms (will & be going to): Used for predictions, plans, or intentions.
- Future Continuous Tense: Used for actions that will be in progress at a specific time in the future.
