Past Simple
- Used for a specific action that interrupts a continuous action.
- Usually used with "when" before the past simple and "while" before the past continuous.
Past Continuous
- Used for actions that were continuing in the past.
- Formula: particle + be + subject + verb + ing
- Used with "while" or "when" to show actions that were happening at the same time or one action interrupting another.
Superlative Adjectives
- Describe something that has the most of a particular quality.
- Formula: the + adjective + superlative
Must/Mustn’t
- Used to express obligation or prohibition
- Must = it is necessary to do something
- Mustn’t = it is not permitted to do something
Should/Shouldn’t
- Used to give advice or recommendations.
- Should = it is advisable to do something.
- Shouldn’t = it is not advisable to do something
First Conditional
- Used to express the result of a possible future action or situation.
- Formula: If + subject + present simple, subject + will + infinitive (without to)
- The if-clause can come before or after the result clause.
Will/Won’t
- Used to make predictions about the future.
- Won't = will not
- The third person (he/she/it) doesn’t end with -s.
- Informal contraction: ’ll
be Going To
- Used to talk about future plans and intentions.
- Formula: be + going to + infinitive.
- Negative: be + not + going to + infinitive.
- Question: be + subject + going to + infinitive.
Present Continuous for Future
- Expresses future plans or arrangements.
- Often used with time markers like “tonight,” “this weekend,” etc.
- Formula: be + verb + ing.
Present Simple for Future
- Used for timetables, schedules, or calendar events.
- Formula: subject + present simple.
