Grammar Tenses
- The present perfect tense is used to talk about an action that started in the past and continues up to the present moment.
- The past simple tense is used to talk about a completed action in the past.
- The future perfect tense is used to talk about an action that will be completed at a specific point in the future.
- The past perfect tense is used to talk about an action that happened before another action in the past.
- The present perfect continuous tense is used to talk about an action that started in the past and continues up to the present moment.
- The future continuous tense is used to talk about an action that will be in progress at a specific point in the future.
Forming Tenses
- The future perfect continuous tense is formed using "will have been" + Verb-ing (e.g. "I will have been studying English for five years by next year").
- The present perfect continuous tense is formed using "has/have been" + Verb-ing (e.g. "I have been studying English for three years").
- The past perfect tense is formed using "had" + past participle (e.g. "I had studied English for three years before I moved to Paris").
Error Identification
