- Subject and Verb: The subject is the doer of the action, the verb describes the action.
- Object: Answers the questions "what?" or "whom?" It receives the action
- Adverb: Answers the questions "why?", "when?", "where?", and "how?". It describes the manner of the action.
- Active Voice: The subject performs the action. (e.g., He kicked the ball.)
- Passive Voice: The object receives the action (e.g., The ball was kicked.) This involves a form of "to be" + past participle form of the verb
- State Verbs: Verbs that describe a state of being rather than an action (e.g., is, are, am, seem, feel, etc). These are different from action verbs.
- Action Verbs: Verbs that describe an action. (e.g., run, play, eat, etc). These are different from state verbs.
Parts of Speech
- Nouns: People, places, things, ideas.
- Pronouns: Take the place of nouns.
- Adjectives: Describe nouns.
- Verbs: Show action or state of being.
- Adverbs: Describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs.
Tenses
- Present Simple: Regular actions.

Conjunctions
- Words that connect phrases or clauses. (e.g., and, but, or, so)
Clauses
- Main Clause: A complete thought that can stand alone as a sentence.
- Subordinate Clause: A clause that cannot stand alone as a sentence (requires a main clause).
Conditional Clauses
- Zero Conditional: Used for statements that are always true.
- First Conditional: Used for possible events in the future.
- Second Conditional: Used for imaginary or unlikely situations in the future.

Passive Voice
