Horacio de la Costa was the first Filipino dean of the Ateneo de Manila University.
He was the first Filipino Jesuit Superior in the Philippines.
He gained his Doctoral degree in History from Harvard University in 1951.
He passed away at the age of 60 on March 20, 1977.
