- This SOG applies to all BSFC&RD personnel assigned to an engine company at an emergency scene or during training
- The main objective of engine company operations is to supply water and extinguish fires, with tactical priorities being life safety, extinguishment, and property conservation
- Engine companies also need to be ready to respond to other emergencies such as MVA’s, medical emergencies, technical rescues, and hazmat incidents
- Engine companies will operate with either 3 or 4 firefighters, with work assignments dictating their actions

- Specific responsibilities are assigned to each firefighter, including deployment of hand lines, conducting primary or secondary searches, and operating extinguishers
