Employee Evaluation Policy
- Purpose: Provide an effective process for evaluating staff performance and ensuring staff has the knowledge, skills, and readiness to fulfill expected duties.
- Performance Appraisal: Assessment of employee effectiveness, usually done at regular intervals.
- Sources of Evaluation: Employee file, performance during probation period, end-of-year review, job functions, and other relevant sources. Supervisor refers to the existing employee file for evaluation accuracy.
- Annual Evaluation: Evaluated annually by direct supervisor, based on job performance evaluation regulations from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD). Evaluations take place in the 11th month of each Hijri year.
- Evaluation Preparation: Prepared by department head/deputy, approved by healthcare facility director/assistant.
- Distribution: Personnel Department sends a copy of the approved evaluation to department heads, and heads of departments send a copy to the employee.
- Employee Appeal: Staff has 15 days to appeal their evaluation, via a committee headed by the Director of Personnel; the appeal is related to the provision of a copy of the evaluation for appeal. The appeal process goes through a committee.
- Evaluation Scope: Covers all staff, users, and designated Saudi items on wages. Evaluations are done twice a year, once after six months and again at the end of the employment year.
