Emergency and Safety Equipment
- Corendon Airlines utilizes a variety of equipment for passenger and crew safety in emergency situations.

- Emergency and safety equipment is located throughout the aircraft for crew use in normal and emergency duties.
Oxygen System
- Two independent oxygen systems are installed—one for passengers/cabin crew and one for the flight deck.
- Portable oxygen bottles are available for emergency situations.
- Emergency oxygen masks, which are either half or full face, are available for flight crew and observers.
- These masks can be used with glasses.
- For half-face masks when there is smoke inside the flight deck, the oxygen mask should be donned before the smoke goggles.
- Procedures for donning the mask are provided (type 1 & 2).
Portable Oxygen Bottles
- Portable oxygen bottles are stored in various locations in the passenger cabin.
- The bottles are used with disposable oxygen masks for first aid purposes.
- The bottles may have capacities of 120 litres or 310 litres.
- Different supply rates for high-flow (Hi) and low-flow (Lo)
- 120 litre supply:
- Hi: 4 liters of oxygen/minute, lasting for 30 minutes
- Lo: 2 liters of oxygen/minute, lasting for 60 minutes
- 310 litre supply:
- Hi: 4 liters of oxygen/minute, lasting for 75 minutes
- Lo: 2 liters of oxygen/minute, lasting for 155 minutes
Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE)
- Smoke hoods are installed in the flight crew compartment for use in fighting cabin fires.
- The hoods provide oxygen and protection from smoke.
- Two types of PBE are described, Type 1 (Drager/Oxycrew) and Type 2 (Scott/Avox).
- Procedures for donning the PBE are outlined.
Megaphone
- A megaphone is used in emergencies when the public address system is not operational for communication with passengers inside and outside the aircraft.
- Two are typically available, one in the front and one in the back of the plane section.
Crash Axe
- The crash axe is used for opening panels, obstructed entrances/exits and for separating wiring.
- The handle is insulated against 24,000-volt current.
Smoke Goggles
- These goggles are used to protect flight crew eyes from smoke and fumes.
- They can also be used with the quick donning mask.
Gloves
- Two pairs of gloves are located in the forward and aft sections of the passenger cabin.
- Gloves are used during firefighting to safeguard from heat.
Life Vests
- One life vest per passenger/crew seat is provided.
- Red life vests are for the crew, and yellow vests are for passengers.
- Children aged 2-12 yrs are given adult/child life vests.
- Procedures for inflating the life vest are given for both adults and children.
Seat Belts
- Infants will be fastened with an infant belt while seated on a parent's lap during take-off and landing.
- Additional seat belts can be provided for passengers with specific needs.
- Procedures for using child seats are provided.
Passenger Safety Card
- Passenger safety instructions about seat belts, oxygen masks, life vests, exits, emergency landings, and use of electronics are provided.
Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)
- Two types of ELT are available, Type 1 and Type 2.
- Procedures and locations for use in an emergency situation
Flashlight
- Flashlights are available in the aircraft for emergency situations.
- Procedures for use (Type 1 and 2).
Demo Kit
- Two demo kits are available—one per aircraft.
- The kit contains adult life vests, seat belts, safety cards and oxygen masks.
First Aid Kit (FAK)
- Two FAK are available in each aircraft.
- Each kit should be checked for contents validity and seal integrity.
Emergency Medical Kit (MED)
- One kit is available per aircraft (located in the forward or aft section).
Ambu Bag
- Each aircraft has one Ambu bag.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Each aircraft has one AED.
Fire Extinguishers
- Portable extinguishers are located at crew stations and in the flight deck.
- Multiple class fire extinguishers (A, B, and C) are provided, each for different types of fires (combustible materials, flammable liquids, and electrical fires).
- Halon or Clean Agent (2-BTP) and water based materials are used.
Protective Equipment for Passengers
- Disposable masks are in the smoke and fire kit to be used to protect from smoke in the cabin.
