    • Carl Hamacher received a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the University of Waterloo, Canada, an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, Canada, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University, New York.

    • He was a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto from 1968 to 1990.

    • He served as director of the Computer Systems Research Institute during 1984-1988 and chairman of the Division of Engineering Science during 1988-1990.

    • He joined Queen’s University in 1991, where he is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

    • He is a Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
