Simple Present

Affirmative Sentences

• Structure: Subject + base form of the verb + (optional: object/adverb)
• Examples:
  • I play soccer.
  • She reads books.
  • They work in the office.
• Note on third person singular:
  • Add -s or -es to the base verb.
  • Examples:
    • He plays soccer.
    • She watches TV.

Negative Sentences

• Structure: Subject + do/does + not + base form of the verb + (optional: object/adverb)
• Examples:
  • I do not (don’t) play soccer.
  • She does not (doesn’t) read books.
  • They do not (don’t) work in the office.
• Note on third person singular:
  • Use does for he/she/it.
  • Examples:
    • He does not (doesn’t) play soccer.
    • It does not (doesn’t) work.

Oraciones Afirmativas

• La estructura de las oraciones afirmativas es: Sujeto + forma base del verbo + (opcional: objeto/adverbio).
• Ejemplos:
  • "Yo juego fútbol."
  • "Ella lee libros."
  • "Ellos trabajan en la oficina."
• En la tercera persona del singular, se agrega -s o -es al verbo base.
• Ejemplos de tercera persona:
  • "Él juega fútbol."
  • "Ella mira televisión."

Oraciones Negativas

• La estructura de las oraciones negativas es: Sujeto + do/does + not + forma base del verbo + (opcional: objeto/adverbio).
• Ejemplos:
  • "Yo no juego fútbol."
  • "Ella no lee libros."
  • "Ellos no trabajan en la oficina."
• En la tercera persona del singular, se utiliza does para he/she/it.
• Ejemplos de tercera persona negativa:
  • "Él no juega fútbol."
  • "Eso no funciona."
