His father's name was Shamrao and his mother's name was Radhabai.
He excelled in his studies and passed his 10th grade examination with good marks, paving the way for higher education.
He pursued higher education at Fergusson College in Pune.
He obtained an M.A. with honors in Sanskrit from a university in England.
He became the president of the Shivajirao Education Society, where he promoted education for all communities.
He emphasized universal and inclusive education, advocating that children from different castes and communities should be educated together, breaking down social barriers and promoting inclusivity.
He highlighted the importance of quality and practical education to ensure everyone could access education, not just those who could afford it.
