The April Revolution (1960)
- Syngman Rhee, president from 1948-1960, employed totalitarian tactics; using stringent censorship and police terrorism
- Rhee also used extra-governmental agencies like youth corps to terrorize opposition groups
Rhee’s Authoritarian Measures
