Cyber Intelligence

  • Cyber threat intelligence is a type of cybersecurity solution that provides valuable intel to help businesses stay ahead of threats.
  • It consists of six key elements that work together to protect technological infrastructure and in-house systems.

Cyber Intelligence Process

  • Direction: The first step in the cyber threat intelligence process, which involves defining the information needed to make the best decisions in a short timeframe.
  • Collection: The second step, also known as data collection, which involves collecting both digital and physical evidence, such as audit logs, IP addresses, CCTV footage, or physical devices.
  • Processing: The third step, which involves "translating" collected information into more organized and decipherable forms, including decoding information, organizing raw data, and tagging information that fits a specific context or source.
  • Analysis: The fourth step, which involves establishing a timeline using the data collected from the processing stage, analyzing contradictory information, and creating a clearer understanding of the events as they unfolded.

Prohibited Acts

  • Unauthorized Use of Chemicals: Knowingly using a chemical substance or mixture that is imported, manufactured, processed, or distributed in violation of the Act or implementing rules and regulations.
  • Failure to Comply: Failure or refusal to submit reports, notices, or other information, access to records, or permit inspection of establishments where chemicals are manufactured, processed, stored, or otherwise held.
  • Penalties: Imprisonment ranging from 6 months and 1 day to 6 years and 1 day, and a fine ranging from P600.00 to P4,000.00.

Environmental Protection

  • Pollution from Motor Vehicles: The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) shall implement emission standards for motor vehicles, and review, revise, and publish the standards every 2 years or as the need arises.
  • Emission Standards: No motor vehicle shall be registered with the DOTC unless it meets the emission standards set by the Department.
  • Penalties for Violation: A fine not exceeding P2,000.00 for the first offense, a fine not less than P2,000.00 and not exceeding P4,000.00 for the second offense, and a fine not less than P4,000.00 and not exceeding P6,000.00 for the third offense.

Fishing Regulations

  • Fishing through Explosives, Noxious or Poisonous Substance, and/or Electricity: It shall be unlawful to catch, take, or gather fish or fishery species in Philippine waters with the use of electricity, explosives, noxious or poisonous substances.
  • Penalties: Imprisonment ranging from 6 months to 2 years for mere possession of explosive, noxious or poisonous substances or electrofishing devices, and imprisonment ranging from 5 years to 10 years for actual use of the same for illegal fishing.

Cyber threat intelligence is a type of cybersecurity solution that seeks to provide valuable intel to help businesses stay ahead of threats. Learn about the 6 key elements that work together to protect technological infrastructure and in-house systems.
