Subculture
Formed when a certain group begins to oppose the established norms and breaks off from the parent culture they came from. Outright rejects its origins and begins cultivating its own identity.
Counterculture
A person can affiliate themselves while existing, interacting, and negotiating within a parent culture. It is also a counterculture when the dominant parent culture ignores its negotiation aspect.
Co-culture
A process of soul-searching, which also affects the dynamics and structure of culture. Appears frequently when experience social autonomy, where they are then expected to undergo the socialization process. A trend still continues in the contemporary period (Danesi, 2018).
