- The test is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers in Central Government Schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other schools under the Central Government
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have completed their Senior Secondary Education (Class 12) with at least 50% marks and are pursuing a teacher training course (e.g., B.Ed., D.El.Ed.) are eligible to apply
- Candidates who have completed their graduation degree with at least 50% marks and are pursuing a teacher training course (e.g., B.Ed., D.El.Ed.) are also eligible
Exam Pattern
- The CTET exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II
- Paper I is for candidates who want to teach classes I to V (primary level)
- Paper II is for candidates who want to teach classes VI to VIII (upper primary level)
- Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, with a duration of 2.5 hours
- The questions are divided into five sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies
