Résumé Overview
- A résumé is an advertisement for an applicant, providing a snapshot of their life and showcasing their eligibility for a job position.
- A résumé is not a biography, but rather an executive summary of the applicant's life.
Parts of a Résumé
- The parts of a résumé can be rearranged according to purpose, but the following format is recommended:
- Picture: A 2 x 2 ID picture, normally placed in the upper-right corner of the first page, wearing formal attire, with a white or formal background.
- Personal Information: Placed opposite the picture, including name, current residence/mailing address, mobile and/or home number, and e-mail address, which must be updated at all times.
Essential Sections
- Objective: A declarative statement that indicates the applicant's purpose in applying, focusing on how the company will benefit from the applicant's skills.
- Work Experience: A list of previous jobs, summarized and arranged from latest to oldest.
- Educational Attainment: A list of education history, from elementary to tertiary, listed from latest to oldest.
- Skills: A list of professional and related skills, including talents, sports, and other skills that may be advantageous.
- Achievements: A list of medals, awards, certificates, and other recognition, listed in a latest-oldest arrangement.
- Seminars Attended: A list of seminars and trainings attended, arranged from latest to oldest.
Additional Sections
- Personal Data: Including birth date, birthplace, age, gender, citizenship, height, weight, religion, and marital status.
- Character Reference: Including at least two credible people, with high or credible positions, professional relationships, and who can provide positive feedback.
- Signature: A statement declaring the applicant's pledge that all information stated in the résumé is true and reliable, followed by the applicant's complete name and signature.
