Countermeasure Washdown

• Four zones are used for washdown: forecastle, superstructure/breaks/midships, aft missile decks/boat decks/aft stacks, and flight deck.
• AFFF (aquous film forming foam) is used in the stations (forward/aft).
• Two stations are used, each with a 600-gallon tank made of 90% copper and 10% nickel.
• 300 gallons of reserve AFFF are stored in 60 blue jugs (5 gallons each).
• Red/green valves are for AFFF, while red/light blue valves are for AFFF concentrate.
• An orifice plate creates a 0.611 diameter ratio.
• 20 hose reels and one cotton jacket hose are used, with cross-connects for forward/aft AFFF supply.
• Ports and starboard sections are next to medical and have the necessary equipment. (e.g., two hose reels, one for each level).
• Various hose reels with bilge sprinkling on each level are present.

Spaces Covered (Forecastle)

• Parts of the forecastle have specific sprinklers and hose reels (auxiliary and main).
• There are multiple hose reels (some with reentry and bilge sprinkling).
• One hose reel is available.

Spaces Covered (Other Areas)

• Specific spaces, like generator rooms, have hose reels and cotton jacket hoses designated for protection.

Halon 1301

• Halon 1301 (bromotrifluoromethane) is used to interrupt chemical chain reactions causing fires.
• 5 lb CO2 bottles discharge for fire suppression.
• Several spaces have time delays for discharge (auxiliary 1, NR 1 GTG, Mer 1, etc).
• Time delays vary in different spaces (30 seconds or 60 seconds).

Firemain

• Firemain is a vertical offset loop with 150 PSI, which provides 4 risers for shore connection (ports and starboard).
• Four plugs are on each riser.
• 6 fire pumps, aux 1, main 1, main 2 and shaft alleys provide services for firestations, mag sprinklers, deluge, CMWD (Centralized fire water supply) and CWIS (Central Water Injection System) cooling and Eductors.

Freshwater Firefighting

• Water is used as firefighting in electronic spaces, 7 hose reels (CSER 1-4 and 1 additional CIC).
• Hose reels are located in various sections of the ship.
• HC stations (Hydraulic control stations) and various stations (1-7) operate valves for engineering/various sections.

Drainage Operations

• Drainage operations are controlled from hydraulic stations (locally or by using MVHC).
• Firemain suction valves are used to secure main drainage in different zones.

Secondary Drainage

• Secondary drainage is utilized in certain areas and is provided by the 3 generators (Mer 1 and 2).

Berthing and Vital Area Sprinkling

• Firemain is used in areas like supply support, dry provisions storeroom, and trash/drygoods storeroom.

Repair Lockers

• Repair lockers are designed for shipboard repairs.
• Various lockers (REP 2, 3, 5) for various emergencies. and purposes (e.g., admin, mess lines, laundry).
• The lockers are allocated 18 SCBA packs totaling 72.
• Repair 8 is an emergency response center.

Shoring Materials

• Wooden materials (Douglas Fir/yellow Pine) and metal (steel) are used as shoring in sections.
• I, H, K types are for steel shoring, with various strengths and sizes.

Vari Nozzle Ratings

• Nozzle ratings (95 GPM inside skin and 125 GPM outside) are used to regulate force.

P-100

• P-100 primarily covers fire fighting aspects.
