Liberty of Abode and Travel
- The liberty of abode and changing one's place of residence shall not be impaired except upon lawful order of the court.
- The right to travel shall not be impaired except in the interest of national security, public safety, or public health, as may be provided by law.
- This provision guarantees freedom to choose and change one's place of residence and dwelling place, and freedom to travel within or outside the country.
Right to Form Unions and Associations
- The right of the people, including those employed in the public and private sectors, to form unions, associations, or societies for purposes not contrary to law shall not be abridged.
- Government employees are given the right to form unions, but their right to strike is not included in this right.
Due Process of Law
- No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, and property without due process of law.
- Essential requirements of procedural due process include:
- A court or tribunal with judicial power to hear and determine the matter before it.
- Jurisdiction must be lawfully acquired over the person of the defendant or over the property which is the subject of the proceedings.

- Liberty includes the right to be free to use one's faculties in all lawful ways, to live and work where one wills, and to pursue any vocation.
- Property includes anything which is or may be the object of appropriation, having money value and being within the commerce of man.
- The right to earn one's daily wage and the right to engage in business are likewise considered property.
Equal Protection of the Law
