Starting and Shutting Down a Computer
- A computer needs to be properly started and shut down to avoid file corruption and damage to the operating system.
- To start a computer:
- Press the Power button
- The Power-on-self test (POST) sequence runs, checking hardware components like keyboard, RAM, and disk drives
- The operating system (e.g., Windows 7) boots up, and the desktop appears
- To shut down a computer:
