  • Grant conditions: Project allowance is granted for large-scale projects. The allowance is primarily to compensate employees for lack of project-site amenities.
  • Eligibility: Central Government employees working in Central projects, State Government projects and projects run by autonomous bodies/corporations (fully owned/controlled by Government, and those under Central Govt norms are eligible. This allowance is not available to casually hired staff from contingencies or those working on an ad-hoc basis, but it can be available under specific circumstances for other employees stationed nearby or within the project area

Conveyance Hire (709)

  • Taxi hire: Specific conditions for taxi hire for railway employees including allowance for specific types of travel, whether for official visits or commuting to the office for example, in a radius up to 8 kilometres. Note that this allowance applies when a staff car is not available and when the journey is connected to duty.
  • Personal vehicles: Allowance for personal vehicles is dependent on the price of the vehicle for the journey.
