Ontario Police Arbitration and Adjudication Commission
- Composed of the Commission Chair, Vice Chairs, and committee members as per the Community Safety and Policing Act.
- Chair and Vice Chairs appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council; other members appointed by the Minister.
Arbitration Committee Structure
- Includes:
- Three members recommended by police associations.
- Three members recommended by police service boards.
- If applicable, one member from a First Nation board recommended by a First Nation police association, and one from the police service maintained by that board.
- The Commission Chair acts as the chair of this committee.
- Responsibilities:
- Maintain a register of arbitrators for appointments.
- Set fees for arbitrators and conciliation officers.
Adjudication Committee Structure
- Includes:
- Three members recommended by police associations.
- Three members recommended by chiefs of police or their representative organizations.
- Similar provisions for First Nation boards as in the arbitration committee.
- The Commission Chair also chairs this committee.
Selection Criteria for Adjudicators
