Classes of Supply

Class I: Rations for subsistence including food and drinking water; also includes gratuitous health and comfort items.

Class II: Expendables such as individual equipment, organizational tools, hand tools, unclassified maps, and various administrative supplies.

Class III: POL (Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants) covering petroleum, fuels, lubricants, hydraulic oils, bulk chemicals, and additives, along with coal products.

Class IV: Construction materials, which consist of installed equipment and fortification materials.

Class V: Ammunition encompassing all types, including bombs, explosives, mines, and associated items like fuzes and propellants.

Class VI: Personal demand items that are nonmilitary, such as health and hygiene products, snack food, beverages, and writing materials.

Class VII: Major end items that include vehicles, tanks, and mobile machine shops.

Class VIII: Medical materials, divided into Class VIIIa (medical consumable supplies excluding blood) and Class VIIIb (blood and blood components).
