Types of Persons Living in the Philippines

Aliens: people who live within the territory of the Philippines and owe permanent allegiance to a foreign country.
- Not entitled to vote or run for elections.
- Limited business capabilities
- Cannot engage in professions like law and medicine.
Dual Citizenship
- Republic Act 9225 (Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003) enables former natural-born Filipinos who have become naturalized citizens of another country to retain/reacquire their Philippine citizenship by taking an oath of allegiance.
Types of Citizens
- Natural Born Citizens: Filipino citizens from birth without having to perform any act to acquire citizenship.
