- The sheet is designed to advise on the best action to take given your hand and the dealer's visible card
- Your hand is on the left, and the dealer's card is along the top
Actions
- H = Hit
- S = Stand
- P = Split
- D/H = Double Down if possible, otherwise Hit
- D/S = Double Down if possible, otherwise Stand
- P/H = Split if double down after split is possible, otherwise Hit
- R/H = Surrender if possible, otherwise Hit
Specific Hand Recommendations
Hard Hands
- For a hand of 8, always hit, regardless of the dealer's card.
- For a hand of 9, double down against dealer's cards 2 through 6; otherwise, hit.
- For a hand of 10, double down against dealer's cards 2 through 9; otherwise, hit.
- For a hand of 11, double down against any dealer's card except an Ace; otherwise, hit.
- For a hand of 12, hit against dealer's cards 2 and 3; stand against 4, 5, and 6; otherwise, hit.
- For hands of 13 through 16, stand against dealer's cards 2 through 6; otherwise, hit.
- For a hand of 14, surrender if possible, otherwise hit, when the dealer shows a 10
- For a hand of 16, surrender if possible, otherwise hit, when the dealer shows a 9, 10, or Ace
- For a hand of 17 or higher, always stand
Soft Hands (hands with an Ace)
- For A,2 and A,3, double down against dealer's cards 4, 5, and 6; otherwise, hit.
- For A,4 and A,5, double down against dealer's cards 4 through 6; otherwise, hit.
- For A,6, double down against dealer's cards 3 through 6; otherwise, hit.
- For A,7, stand against dealer's cards 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6; otherwise, hit.
- Always stand on A,8
Pair Splitting
- Always split 8,8 and A,A
- Split 2,2 and 3,3 against dealer's cards 2 through 7; otherwise, hit
- Split 4,4 against dealer's cards 5 and 6; otherwise, hit.
- Double down if possible, otherwise hit on 5,5 against dealer's cards 2 through 9
- Split 6,6 if double down after split is possible, otherwise hit, against dealer's cards 2 through 6; otherwise, hit.
- Split 7,7 against dealer's cards 2 through 7; otherwise, hit.
- Split 9,9, except stand when the dealer shows a 7, 10, or Ace
Never split 10,10
- Always stand on 10,10
