BEST PLUS 3.0 Update

• Available for purchase, use, and training starting October 1.
• Requires 40 hours for post-testing with the same instrument.
• Self-paced training must be completed before administering the test.
• Training is free through Cal until March; may change to in-house training afterwards.
• Documentation for training is to be determined.
• Currently not listed as a choice in LACES.

New WorkKeys Test for Entry EFL

• ACT WorkKeys Applied Math and Workplace Documents accepted for determining entry levels.
• Approved forms can be found in LACES under NRS Approved assessments.
• To access new forms, contact ACT directly.
• A self-paced course for WorkKeys Administration is available in Brightspace.
• When entering WK tests, include scale score and testing date in Assessments under ACT WorkKeys.

Editing Choice Lists

• Consistency is crucial when editing choice lists.
• Full names of institutions and choices should be used; no abbreviations allowed.

Report Exclusions

• Students can be excluded from post-testing for specific reasons, still counted as Participants on Table 4.
• Select exclusion reason from the demographics tab using the drop-down menu.
• If a student is deceased, the Date of Death must be documented.
• Documentation for report exclusion must be maintained in the student’s permanent folder (e.g., obituary).
• Exclusions should not be filed if a student has already made a gain or other measurable skills gains (MSG).

Primary Programs Reminder

• Follow OAE guidance for proper program placement to reflect enrollment reasons.
• Primary program can be adjusted after enrollment if needed.
• All GED graduates should be marked under the Program Adult Ed GED.
• Adult Ed category includes individuals with secondary credentials or those not earning one.
• Enter Student Unique ID in LACES for all 16-21-year-olds previously attending a South Carolina public school, using placeholders if the ID is unavailable (e.g., Out-of-State, Private School).

IEP/504 and Testing Accommodations

• Indicate IEP or 504 status under Specific Learning Disability in student records.
• New options available in drop-down to document Yes-Documented IEP or Yes-Documented 504.
• Update records with current information and utilize the new features.
• Add comments for testing accommodations, and create a specific Comment Type for clarity.

Goals

• Family Literacy Goals remain optional for GED/HSD, not affecting funding.
• GED goals are automatically entered based on GED assessment input.
• HSD goals must be manually entered.
• WRC assessments should still be recorded under goals for funding eligibility.

Finding WRC Already Entered in Non-Reportable Credentials

• Utilize the "All Non-Reportable Credentials" drop-down to filter for WRC entries that start with "WRC."

SC Custom Transcript Updates Reminder

• Dual Enrollment option is now available when entering transcripts.
• Sign in through QR codes or the Google form link provided in Brightspace for meeting credit.

Logistics

• Newberry Guest WiFi: ncsdinternet, restrooms, and lunch information provided.
• Speakers and Data Specialists will be assisting during sessions.
