- The document presents the FIBA Official Interpretations of the FIBA Official Basketball Rules 2024.

Teams and Player Equipment (Article 4)
- All team players must have arm and leg compression garments, including undershirts/shorts, headgear, wristbands, headbands and tapings of the same solid color.
- Wearing different color headbands by different players is not permitted.
- Wearing scarf-style headbands is not allowed.
- Headbands should not have opening/closing elements or protruding parts.
- Non-compression t-shirts are not allowed under the uniform
- Compression garment (undershirt) may be worn with any length up to the bottom of the neck and any length on and below the shoulders.
Player Injury and Assistance (Article 5)
- If an injured player is assisted on the court by team personnel they must be substituted.
- Providing assistance from the team's bench area without delaying restarting the game doesn't require the assisted player's substitution.
- Time is not limited for removing a seriously injured player if the doctor considers it dangerous to move them quickly.
- Players designated by their head coach to start can be substituted for an injury.
- Players who receive treatment between free throws must be substituted.
- In both cases, opponents can also substitute players.
- If a player cannot immediately continue play (within ~15 seconds) because of an injury must be substituted.
- During a time out the player may continue to play as long as the end signal sounds before a substitute beckons.
Head Coach Duties (Article 7)
- Each team's head coach or representative must provide the scorer a team list with names and numbers of team members.
- Head coach ensures that the team list matches the shirt of the players.
- Before the game, each coach confirms the 5 starting players to the scorer confirming names and numbers.
- If shirt numbers or the name of a player is omitted on the team list, the wrong name is to be added/corrected before the game without penalty.
- If shirt numbers or the name of a player is omitted on the team list, the referee stops the game at a convenient time to correct.
- Injured players can be permitted to sit on the team bench.
- The teams decide who, of the maximum 12 team members eligible to play, shall be entered on the scoresheet.
- Additional a maximum if 8 accompanying delegation members can be added to the team bench.
- Teams must confirm 5 players before start of game and any correction must be before the game, otherwise error is disregarded.
- The head coach shall personally confirm the players who are to start th game by marking a small "x" beside each player's number.
- if head coach and first assistant coach are disqualified, the team's captain shall act as the new head coach.
Playing Time and Score (Article 8)
- An interval of play starts 20 minutes before the game.
- Additional it restarts when the game or quarter/overtime ends, except the last one.
- If the backboard has red lights, this signal has precedence over the game clock's signal sound.
- Whether a foul happened before or after the clock sounds to end game is determined whether the clock was sounded before the foul.

Start and Stop (Article 9)
- A game will not start unless a minimum 5 players are present in the court.
