- Secondary/Padding & Comfort Layer (e.g., Cast padding, Roll Cotton, Stretch Gauze)
- Tertiary/Holding & Protective Layer (e.g., Vet wrap, Elastikon)
Steps in Placing a Bandage
- Apply anchor tapes (stirrups)
- Apply Primary Layer (Contact Layer)
- Apply Secondary (Padded/Conforming) Layer
- Apply Splint (if necessary)
- Reflect, twist, and adhere tape stirrups to gauze
- Apply Tertiary (Protective & Adhesive) Layer
