Because of this belief the Aztec people welcomed the conquistador into the village. They did not see him as an immediate threat which gave him time to begin a war. <p>The fall of the Inca came when Atahualpa was the leader of their empire. Pizarro, the conquistador, captured Atahualpa and offered to let him go if the Inca filled one room with gold and another with silver. This was done but Pizarro still had Atahualpa killed.
