Some well-known examples of autoimmune diseases include:
- Type 1 diabetes: In this disease, the body's attack targets insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas, thereby impairing blood sugar regulation. Both conditions cause inflammation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloody stools, cramping, urgency to defecate, and fatigue.
