Promotion Levels

Promotions occur at three levels:
- Unit level
- Semi-centralized
- DA centralized

E5/E6 Promotion Level

Soldiers are promoted to the grade of E5/E6 at the semi-centralized level.

Promotion Requirements

PV2/E2:
- Time in Grade (TIG): 6 months
- Time in Service (TIS): 6 months
PFC/E3:
- TIG: 4 months
- TIS: 12 months
SPC/E4:
- TIG: 4 months
- TIS: 24 months

Promotion to Higher Ranks

SGT/E5:
- PZ (Primary Zone): 36 months TIS, 8 months TIG
