What is the difference between a true experimental study and a quasi-experimental study?
In a true experimental study, subjects are assigned to groups randomly and treatments are also assigned randomly. In a quasi-experimental study, intact groups are used when random assignment is not possible, but the treatments should still be assigned randomly.

The independent variable is the variable being manipulated by the researcher.
